The “goto de fornasa” is much more than just a handmade glass. Once upon a time, the goto was a real training ground for apprentices, who had to experience the process by creating a totally personalized glass. For this reason, each goto is unique and unrepeatable and encapsulates the soul and artistic flair of the artisan.

Mirò collection

Joan Mirò’s creativity pushed him to seek increasingly essential forms, in search of a profound simplification of reality itself. The colors acquire a meaning and participate in the graphic rendering of the material, reinforcing the visual impact.

pollock collection

He who has removed the canvas from the easel, having consequently multiplied the artist’s points of observation and intervention.  The work no longer has any center, but is constituted solely as a plot. Pollock’s was an aesthetic break with every representative model of art.

Canaletto collection

At the end of 1600, in Venice, Giovanni Antonio Canal, called Canaletto, was born. He was a “pittor de vedute” (painter of views), realistically reproducing the views of his city and the everyday moments of the inhabitants of Venice.

brighella collection

Unlike Arlecchino, Brighella is a “first Zanni”, a cunning and opportunistic servant, cunning and scheming, mischievous and rascal, lascivious and cruel, thief and insolent, and on occasion drunkard and murderer, he is not only a servant, but an infinity of other jobs, more or less honest and lawful and so he always finds himself in the midst of various intrigues.

mondrian collection

The Neoplasticism movement, founded by Piet Mondrian, owes its name to the desire to “express relationships plastically through oppositions of color and line,” considered the movement’s founding text.

The stages of glass
making:

How we make our goto

  • The Master customizes the goto with lines
    of colored fused glass.

  • The Master's breath allows the glass to
    expand.

  • Through specific tools, the Master
gives the final shape of the goto.
